Frequently Asked Questions

Browse some of the commonly asked questions below, or get in touch to speak to one of our friendly advisors about something more specific.

Which is better aluminium or UPVC windows?

Aluminium windows are generally considered stronger and more resistant to wear than UPVC windows. They also feature slimmer frames to allow more natural light in. Because of their enhanced functionality and aesthetics, they tend to cost more than UPVC windows, which are the most popular choice. UPVC windows still offer long-term durability and a wide range of colour choices, so which is best for you really depends on your budget.

Do you sell timber windows?

No, we do not currently offer timber windows.

What colours can I choose from?

The list of colours available for both UPVC and aluminium windows is huge! With aluminium windows, you can choose from an almost limitless array of RAL colours, while UPVC windows also have a large range of choices in addition to the standard white. All windows and doors can be tailored with dual colours, where the exterior is one colour and the interior another.

Do you ‘supply only’ windows and doors?

All of our installation staff are highly trained and have worked with the products we supply for many years. This means they have the skills and expertise necessary to fit them according to the manufacturer’s instructions and protect the warranty of the product. Therefore, we do not offer a ‘supply-only’ service.

What is a composite door?

A composite door is a highly durable, secure door with a solid timber core, encased in robust, reinforced materials and finished in an array of styles and finishes. This gives the appearance of a traditional timber door without the need for regular painting and varnishing, making it a maintenance-free option with long-term durability. Composite doors are also considered to be far more thermally efficient and secure than their traditional counterparts.

How secure are your doors?

All of our composite front doors are secured to PAS24 standards with multipoint locking systems for added peace of mind.

Which is better, sliding or Bifold doors?

Both Bifold and sliding doors have their benefits when opening up your space to the outdoors. Bifolds fold back completely, so maybe better if you have a smaller opening. Meanwhile, sliding doors have slimmer frames which gives you better visibility to the outdoors when the doors are closed. If you’re unsure, feel free to speak to one of our specialists about what might be best for your needs.
